Background

SEEN Media was formed as a collaboration between two companies, SEEN Magazine and Styleshack, to form the ultimate hyper-local lifestyle guide - a connected experience combining print, digital, e-commerce and delivery.

SEEN Magazine was launched by Kevin Browett in 2014 as a 52-page magazine, has grown over the past three years into the largest monthly lifestyle magazine in Michigan.  Browett the Chief Operating Office, Renaissance Media, known as an innovative thinker with broad-based expertise in operations, merchandising, finance, technology, and business development, saw the future trends moving to local shopping, small towns emerging again and moving back to one’s “roots”. He had the idea of creating a local publication that highlighted all the good things that people do, local business stories, and events and trends that people care about right in our back yard.

Styleshack.com was launched in 2013 by fashion industry expert and retail specialist, Rachel Schostak, as a shop local marketplace. The platform connects shoppers to local boutiques, unique designers, trends and specialty stores. Styleshack has been the go to guide for everything fashion & retail featuring style tips, fashion trends, design inspiration and local shopping opportunities. In 2015, Amy Gill joined the Styleshack team full time as CEO.

The SEEN mission, to tell the positive stories about the people, places and events in the community, directly relates to the core mission of Styleshack to make it easier to shop and support local. Together with the technology, they will continue to help everyone live their best life, locally.
